| How to engage in Christian Study....first read the Bible daily. There's lots of Bible reading plans around. Better yet, join a Bible Study group or participate on line. See our Bible Study page for example. Read Bible commentaries geared for your level of experience. Read other good Christian books and magazines--especially those about how to apply the Bible in your daily life, explanations of why we believe what we do. Our numerous links aren't just about raising revnue to support the community. Studying, understanding, and living God's word is critical to your growth as a Christian and a joy as well. |
Study means learning the Bible so you can live according to God's right plan for us. Christian Study
give us confidence and peace because we understand who God is and what he wants us to do about it.
Piety doesn't mean becoming a simpering pious fool as the media would have you believe. Living a
pious life means living the way the Bible teaches us to live--cleanly, kindly, helpfully, and avoiding sin
on purpose.
Christian action means applying your faith everyday. Applying not just in theory but in real life. The
arena for real Christian action is especially not just inside the church. Represent Christ everywhere you
go, in everything you do, and everything you say (and don't say). Bless people with prayer and random
actts of kindness. Invite friends to church.
Christian life takes practice. Make study a habit. We're all sinners by nature, so piety has to be
learned. Hang out with Christian friends and keep each other on the right path. Christian action is not
merely asking, "What would Jesus do?"--Its a matter of doing what Jesus did do.
